  • I-94 expired and new H1B approval in hand!!

I am currently in US on my H1B which expired on 05/31/2010. I have the new approval (I-797A) notice for extension and would be getting my visa renewal stamped when I visit India next month. I am still with the same employer and have not gone out side US since my last stamping and entry in 2007. I had a question regarding the I-94. The one currently attached to my passport expired on 05/31/2010 along with my earlier H1-B. This was attached when I entered US last time after my first H1B stamping in 2007.

I know that there is a new and revised I-94 attached to my I-797A approval notice (right side of the bottom half) with the earlier I-94 number and my new approval receipt number along with other details.

Do I turn that in with the old one (expired I-94) when I leave the country for India in December? Please advice.
    Thanks in advance!!

    HI OP,

It would have taken less time for you if you have searched your question in this forum than typing as there are hundreds of threads related to this..

You need to RETURN - ALL I-94's to the airlines authority when you go to India.
Make sure that it is your responsibility to return and not airlines to collect.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Abhay

        Hi ,

Just an addition - make sure that you take Photocopy/scanned copy of all your I-94's for your records.

        Thanks and Regards,
        Abhay
