Last Update date for H1B petition

Hello

I am in L1B visa(from employer A) in USA and USCIS has received my New H1B petition(from employer B) on 08/30/2010(Aug 30) and it is still in Initial Review Status. For my Receipt Number, I can see last updated date as 12/03/2010(which is today’s date) in my USCIS website Account, earlier it was 10/03/2010. It is with Vermont Service Center. Employer haven’t received any updates on my status.

Can any one suggest how long it may take to get this approved? When exactly they update the date in USCIS account?

There is no definete time frame. You cannot rely on their website. There are plenty of cases where people have got their approval but the case status still shows "Initial Review". Normally it takes anywhere between 2-4 months. In recent times, it is taking more than 5 months (Especially California Service Center).
