Passport not returned afte interview for H4 visa

I have been in US for last 4 years. I went to India on vaation and got my family visa stamped from Mumbai. I am on H1 and my wife and son are on H4. Me and my son got the visa stamped right after interview but my wife hasn't got it even after 3 weeks of interview. They are neither telling any reason nor giving estimated time to return it. Just standard answer that "visa is in process and will be completed soon". Interview went smooth and interviewer said that your visa is approved and you will get it in 2 days.

Any help/suggestion how to track the right position of passport and estimated time to ge it back from Consulate.

There is no tracking or a fixed timeframe. Unfortunately you will need to wait until you hear back from the consulate. Probably her visa is under administrative process.
