H1 and home buying

I am not sure whether this question has been asked in the past, please accept apologies if it has been asked. I want to get my passport stamped with H-1 during my visit to India in May 2011. Before May 2011 if I buy a home in the US (I was considering this because the mortgage payments are almost the same as the rent without utilities) then will it affect my chances of getting a visa during the interview? I already have an approved letter I-797A.

Buying a home in U.S has nothing to do with your visa processing.

From apersonal note, what is important is if the visa gets rejected (for any given reason), then you will be stuck in your home country and you will need to find ways to maintain your new home in U.S.
