L1 to H1 COS, in between transition period

Hi,

Is their any transition period while changing status from L1 to H1 ? Can an individual take a week off in between changing job from L1 to H1 ?

For example , assuming that last day of employment on L1 is 3rd January and start date on H1 is 10 January, period from 4th - 9th will be neither on L1 or H1. Is that a cause of concern ?

>>> No. You will go out of status for that week if you do so.

>>> You need to be working with the H1B employer as on the effective date of H1B. Otherwise, you will be out of status on H1B from the effective date until you join the H1B employer. You cannot start working for the H1B employer prior to the H1B effective date. If you quit your L1 employer prior to the H1B effective date, then you will go out of status on L1.

What is the impact of being out of status for 1 week ? Is it a major concern for future visa stamping or GC processing..
