Visa extension and adding a dependent at the same time

Hello,

I am currently a H1B visa holder with full time employment. I have stuck to a single employer since 4 years (1 year OPT, 3 years H1B). My H1B visa is coming up for renewal in May/June and I am also getting married in India in March. My H1B extension has been filed in December and I expecting to get an approval soon.

My wife was an employee with Infosys in India and she has quit her job effective Feb, 2011.

My question is:

Can me and my wife go for our visa interview together? Hers will be a new H4 application whereas mine will be a H1B renewal.

Does going for our Visa stamping together put either of our cases in jeopardy?
What would be the best advised thing to do in our case w.r.t. Visa stamping?

You both can go for stamping together. You need to choose the "Family Option" while creating the visa application. It is indeed advisable to go for H1B & H4 stamping together rather than going separately since there will be very little question to your dependent.
