  • H1-B stamping at Hyd. Advice please.

    Hi,

This forum helps a lot for first time applicants. I am first time filing applicant and have some general questions. Sorry if it bothers other.

I received confirmation after filing application that i need to provide

    a) Passport
    b) Evidence of approved I-129.

    All i have is I-797A and I-797C.

Reading forums said that i need to ask my employer I-129. I will get it.

Question1: I know i filed everything proper, just want clarification that for H1B stamping people who got approved I-797A/C, working in USA and going for stamping@HYd, confirmation is right that we need to submit passport and evidence of approved I-129.

Question2: My intended date of arrival in application is March30th,2011 and i booked my flight as March24th,2011. Does this matter?

Advance thanks for replying. These questions are bugging me a lot. Appreciate for help.

    Thanks
    Pavan

    >>> Yes, you need to submit the doucments in advance at the Hydrabad consulate.

    >>> You can travel 10 days before the H1B efective date. 24th March is just fine. However, yu can start working only from 30th March.

      Hi Shervin143,

Thank you for reply. Currently I am in USA and my H1B is approved from Oct2009 to Sept2012. I am coming to india in Feb2011 to visit family and then get H1B stamping.

      My question is:
I thought i need to submit original copies of I797A and in my CEAC confirmation bar code letter they didn't mention I797 but asked for passport and evidence of approved I-129. I am little bit confused whether i submitted application proper application.

Please let me know if i filed proper application or need to make changes.

      Appreciate for your help.

      Thank you.

Evidence of approved I-129 is nothing but the approval notice (I-797). The original I-129 is the one that is submitted to USCIS. Your employer might have a copy of it. Carry a copy when you go for the stamping.
