  • LCA for H1B

    Hi,

I was let go while working on H1B visa early Nov (I had worked for a year on H1B by then). I switched to O3 visa after that and I recently got a job offer. The lawyers for my new employer told me they are waiting for LCA before they can file my H1B and it should take them a week to receive LCA. What does LCA mean and is this wait reasonable?

Many thanks for your help in advance.

LCA is something which your employer need to file before they can file your H1B petition. LCA is applied specific to the location of employment in which the H1B employee will be working. As labor laws varies from one state to another, LCA must be filed every time your place of employment changes (client location).

It takes anywhere between 1 -2 weeks to get the LCA approved.
