  • H1B Visa Stamping| Question

    Dear Sir,

I have got my approved H1B petition, which is valid till Dec 2011. I also have H1B Visa Stamped on my Passport through my previous employer, and is valid till September 2011. That bears the name of my previous employer.

Now, Do I have to take an appointment in US Embassy, New Delhi to get a new stamp on my Passport which will reflect my new employer name? Will Embassy officer refuse to stamp a new Visa, since I already have a valid visa?

Or can I travel with my existing stamped Visa along with my new approved petition? If so, will there be any issues at the port of entry in US?

Please clarify these doubts, I would really appreciate your help.

    Regards,
    Ashish

You can use the same Visa and new petition to enter the US. But irrespective of that you may be asked to show that the job still exists for you and that the employer is able to place you on a project if applicable.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.
