client letter

Hi Friends,
I have H1B visa i/ve at Chennai consulate. I am going thru consultancy, they have not provided the client letter and mentioned that I will be working in internal projects. I heard that now a days VOs are asking to get the client letter. If yes how to answer for my case, is it mandatory to get the client letter? My consultant is not able to give the client letter.
Please respond me this is urgent.
