H1B extension beyond 6 years

I have my 6 years ending on July,2011 on H1B. What are my chances of staying in the US beyond that time? I work for a company who is willing to sponsor my L1A ie 7th year extension and have said no for Green Card as they said that should have been filed 1.5 years back? Any comments will be appreciated.Thanks.

If the labor is not filed 365 days prior to the 6th year end on H1B, then the 7 th year extension is not possible. You will have to spend 1 year outside U.S to get a fresh 6 year period on a new H1B CAP. L1 + H1B combined is for 6 years. I am not sure if a COS to L1A after the 6th year end on H1B will get approved.
