  • H1 extension question

    Hi,

I hold a valid H1b visa till end of June 2011. My I-94 also expires then.

I read that if you apply for an extension and it gets denied, you will be asked to leave in 30 days. So my question is if I apply for my H1 extension now, and "if" it gets denied (say before April/May), will I then be able to stay here in US till my original I-94 expiry or will I have to leave the US in 30 days time?

Also, an additional question I had was regarding a H1- transfer.
If I apply for an extension now, and during the processing time can I apply for my H1 transfer? What are the problems (if any) arising out of this?

    1. You can stay until I-94 expires.
    2. That's fine. I don't see problems.
