How to change from H1B to B2?

Hi. I am presently working on H1B. I have accepted a job offer from another country and so I will be leaving the US in the next few months. However, before I leave I would like to stay in US and travel/spend time with some friends in the US. How to do this in a legally proper manner? Can I change to B2 for a couple of months? Kindly advise on how to go about it. Thank you.

You will need to file I-539 before you quit your job. Search for instructions.
