H1 pending and I-140 is under progress

I have my H1B stamping in pending status and employer already filed I-140 about 4 months back. now question i have is for the worst case. If i get my I-140 approved and priority becomes current date lets say in May 2012. based on that can i get my GC and enter in US at that time ?

GC is for future employment. H1B processing / stamping has nothing to do with GC process. If the GC getsa approved, then ofcourse you can enter U.S.

Is your Gc filed in EB2 or EB3? What is your priority date?

Thanks for your reply. GC is in EB2 category. and priority date is in Aug,2010. I know its going to take ateast 3 more years for my case to match priority and current dates.
