need to convert b1/b2 into h1 need urgent advice

I need to get advice on converting my B1 to an H1. I have found an employer who is willing to sponsor me immediately but neither he or I have any experience. Is there some where where I can get a one time free consultation to see if this is even possible and then decide to hire an attorney.

Please this is very urgent.

Have you had any H1 petition filed for you in the past?

H1 quota for the current year is closed and will open on Oct 1. Petitions for this start date can be filed from Apr 1 and not before.

H1 petitions with immediate start date can only be filed in very limited circumstances.

To add to the below, a change of status from B1/B2 to H1B is never advisable. There will be a lot of questions when you go for visa stamping. The visa officers will suspect that your primary reason to get a B1/B2 is to look for jobs when you are in U.S. It is advisable that you ask your new employer to file the H1B petition as a consular process and when it gets approved, get the H1B stamped and enter U.S in H1B status and start working.
