H1B Extension

Hi All,

My H1b is expiring in 6 months(this is my first renewal). When is the best time to file extension and please tell me if i need to take care of anything before filing extension.

Extension can be filed 6 months before the I-94 expiry date.

Hi OP,

Also if you believe that you will be travelling out of the country soon (for any reason)...its better to file for the extension in Premium processing (as you will get the result/I-797 A Approval notice) in 15 days...

Also if you are married i.e. have dependents with H4 ( and their I-94 is also expiring with you) , then you can file for their extension also with your application.
