Only 2 terms for nonimmigrant visa

Recently I heard from one of my friends that, a person can stay in US only for two terms with a 365days + gap in between the stay. Example... a person stays in US on H1B for six years, then goes back to home country for 1 year, then comes back on H1B for another 6 years, after which he cannot stay or enter US for life time ...

This is something I have never heard of... Is this true?

That's not true. You can get fresh 6 years after spending 1 year outside any number of times.
