  • H1 Stamping.

    Hi,

I got my H1 approved last year November. It was a transfer from F1 to H1.

Do i need to go to india for the stamping (this would be the first time H1 stamping for me) or else i could do it in Canada?

And is it safe if i apply for green card before going out of country for first time H1 stamping?

Just an advice. Would help a lot.

    Thanks.

    Hi Arun

I am also going to India for F1 to H1 COS stamping. This is my first time. My company immigration attorney mentioned it is a law for first timers to get the visa stamped from home country. But may be thats not all true.

But its better to get it stamped from home country as dues to the delays going on these times.

    Good luck.

You can go to Canad since you have completed your studies in U.S (Otherwise, the first time H1B stamping should be from the home country).

GC can be started anytime (365 days prior to the end of the 6th year on H1B to get further extension). GC has nothing to do with your H1B stamping.
