when should my wife appear for h4?

Hi Sir !!

This year...My employer is ready to file my h1.
My OPT STEM Extension is getting expire on 25th July 2011.
So Any how i have to file my petition before that(Before 25th July 2011).
So if i get the approval of my petition before that when my wife should appear for H4 ?Like do we have to wait till 1st Of Octomber,2011. Or once i get my approval of my petition, we can plan for H4.

Your wife can apply for her H4 Visa at a consulate anytime after your employer receives H1 approval. But she can travel to US only on or after Oct 1.
