221g Passport Damaged

Hello Friends,

I attended Visa Interview on 16 Mar 2011 at hyderabad consulate.Interview went fine but Got 221 G for damaged passport. I have submitted my old and new passports along with my DS-160 , I797 documents on 24 Mar 2011 to VFS Hyderabad.
So far , i haven't heard or recieved my passport from Embassy.

Online VFS status shows Passport under process with US Embassy.

When I try to check the status of my case in the consulate website, I recieve the following information saying "We were not able to identify your Case #, Please make sure you have entered your case number correctly".

Has anyone faced this problem..?
How many days does US consulate take to issue the passport with Visa Stamped.?
Please update me if any one else has faced similar issue.

Damaged passport 221g

Hi,

Did you get your stamped passport after submitting the new & the old passport. My case is indetical to yours. I appeared for the interview on 16th march and got 221g form for damaged passport. I submitted my docs 2 days ago

Interview date: 14th March 2011
Submitted only new passport along with old passport on 30th Mar at VFS Hyd

no response till now

NIV case status showing as "no record found"

Appreciate your kindness in sharing your views.
Do any of you have any idea about the time it usually takes for such cases
at other consulates?

Did you guys send an email describing the issue about the case number not being identified on the hyderabad consulate site.

Yes, I did. I have recieved the following reply from consulate offical in less than a day.

"Not all case numbers are listed on our website. We are well aware how frustrating these delays can be for applicants and do our best to perform the work as quickly as possible".

According to the VO, they can't tell us exactly how many days they will take to issue the visa.

I am here on a business trip and had to appear for visa due to my H1B extension. What is your take on the response...

Yes I am also received same reply as below which manishrihan got
mine is L1B
I am not sure hw many days we need to wait

Also one more question, did you guys submit any other docs along with new n old passports n 221g blue paper?

I have not submitted DS160 n I797 docs?

I am also in the same situation, came from US on business trip for 2 weeks and stuck here because of this issue (almost 5 weeks).

Hello Guys,

I have recieved my Passport with Visa Stamp today. It took exactly 3 weeks for consulate officials to process my case.
