  • 221 G Green Slip (Option - Other)

I have been given 221 G Green slip with "Other" option checked in the form. It stated “we must review your case” . Please let me know if anybody came across similar case.

Following is the list of questions I was asked during yesterday's interview.

    1) VO: Who is your employer?
    BASOFT

    2) What type of company is it?

    Consulting

    3) Is it owned by an Indian person?

Owner of my company is a person of Indian origin, but he is a US Citizen.

    4) Your company must have all Indian people working for them right

Not all, but…VO interrupted me and said most of them.

    5) All Indian owned companies are biased and they only employ Indian people and not American citizens.

I said no it is not that the company is biased , but he interrupted me again so I kept quite.

    6) He then asked me to give all my papers.

I asked him if he would like to see my I129 and he said yes all your documents.

    7) So who is your client?

xyz Inc. I gave him the client letter provided by XYZ.

    8) What do they do?

They are a group of companies that do inhouse projects.

    9) Where is xyz located?

    austin

    10) And your company is in houston?

    Yes.

    11) Who is the vendor between your company and xyz?

    There is no vendor.

    12) Is xyz owned by an Indian person too?

    NO

    13) How often do you interact with your company?

    Twice a month on phone.

    14) What do you talk about?

About the project, my responsibilities and how I am accomplishing my tasks.

    15) What kind of work you do?

    I am a BI Consultant

    16) What is BI?

    Business Intelligence.

    17) What do you do exactly?

We collect information for several past years and then generate reports tht the higher management can use for decision making after analyzing the trends in business.

    18) What kind of business is this?

It an inhouse project that collects information for an insurance company that deals with salvaged automobiles.

    19) What company is this?
    ABCD

    20) Where is it?

    austin

    21) So you sit in ABCD?

    No, I sit in XYZ’s office .

    22) How often do you go to ABCD?

So far I have been there only twice.

    23) Which other clients have you worked with?
    ------

Then the officer kept typing and looking at his screen for another 5 mins and also kept looking @ the client letter we used during extension and the one we got now from XYZ.

He finally told me that I am going to return you this now and we will need to review your case. Make sure you provide the documents as soon as possible.

I said I have a query and told him that I have a return ticket for 15May2011, so what should I do about it?

He said we can’t tell you anything right now, we need to review your case. We will contact you. He gave me my passport and the green colored 221g form with OTHER checked and he has written.

“we must review your case” on the dotted line.

What exactly is your question? 221g's are very common these days for candidates who are employed with consultancy companies. Follow the below thread for 221g cases. You are not alone. There are lot of people who have git 221g forms and there are also a lot of people who got their passports stamped after a successful admin process.

Thanks for the response. My question is how common is the case with the "other" option. I was looking for someone with this case and does it finally get processed.
