Please Help (H1 Without Client)

I want to file my H1 with my employer which is a consultancy firm. I'm working on a project at client location. My client is not giving me the client letter for filling a H1. I just wanted to know, Is there any other way to file H1 without the client letter.
One of my friend told me that my employer can use the contract that they have with my client for filling my H1. Please advise. Thanks.

The employer can show the SOW between them and the client and request the extension based on that (Assuming there are no layers in between your employer and the client. If there is a layer, then you need the SOW between each layer).
