L1B to H1B - deadline for filing

Hello,

My L1B visa expires in Dec. I already got an extension.

I am going for a change of status to H1B. My employer would file for this.

When should I start applying for this? I hear its something to do with the cap that determines when I should file. Am I already late?

Please advise. Thanks.

Your employer needs to file before your L1 I-94 expires and while the H1 cap remains open. It is currently open and expected to stay open until at least the end of the year.
