Hi All,

I am on H1 visa valid till 2014. planning to change my employer. I have 2 questions. Assuming i initiated H1 transfer

1) Can i work on the receipt number through my new employer

2) If my H1 is approved (new employer) how long can i be on my existing employers payroll. Is there a time limit.

>>> Yes. However, it is advisable you join them only after the approval. In case the transfer gets denied, you will be in trouble.

>>> There is no limit. You can continue as long as that employer's petition and I-94 remains valid. To continue further an extension need to be filed.
