221 G Green Slip

Hi All,
I had H1B visa in chennai on 18th August,2011.
Visa Officer asked me only 3 questions and handed me 221 (G) Green slip.
He advised me to submit some documents. Any one can help me
1. What is 221G Green slip.
2. Should I have to send passport with all docs ?
3. Can i submit it to nearest VFS Center.
4. Any chance for H1B visa after document submission ?
5. How much time it will take for visa approval ?

My employer is small company having 25 to 30 staff members. I will work on in-side project at employer's location.

Please help me for above questions. Suggestions are always welcome

>>> If passport is checked as one of the items in the 221g form, then YES. Otherwise when the 221g gets cleared, the consulate will ask you later to send the passport for stamping.

3. Can i submit it to nearest VFS Center.
>>> You have to send the documents (Or go in person and handover) to the VFS center where you attended the interview.

4. Any chance for H1B visa after document submission ?
>>> If the 221g admin process gets completed successfully, you will get the the visa stamping.

5. How much time it will take for visa approval ?
>>> No one can predict. It is case by case basis.
