What is last date to send application if I want to work on H1B starting from Oct 2011

Hi All,

I have just cleared interview in some company and they are ready to file my new H1B visa application.

and that process may start on 15th Sept 2011 , I am curious that what is last date to file H1B visa application if I want to start working in that company in oct 2011.

It would also help if someone explain general process of getting H1B visa , starting from application filling.

It takes 7 days for LCA and if application is filed in premium 15 days to get a decision. You can start working when petition is approved with change of status. There is no last date as such since the cap is wide open.
