That is not correct. You can only work on receipt if your current status is H1. You will have to stop working after EAD expiry until H1 approval.

To answer your question - I am currently working on L2 visa with EAD. But my EAD and Visa will expire 14th October. My current employer is filing a fresh H1 for me and they are saying that, we can work with just the receipt. Please let me know. Thanks.

I would like to know whether we can work with receiving just the Receipt after filing a fresh H1B petition? Or we are allowed to work only after the status (approved or denied) is known?
