How to apply for H1B when I'm in OPT(teaching at college) and having phd in history.
How to apply for H1B when I'm in OPT(teaching at college) and having phd in history.
Hi, I'm in OPT now and it ends in February 2012. I would like to apply for H1B. Could anyone explain how the process for PhD holders.
Thanks in advance.
There is no special process to file H1B for PhD holders. The process is the same for everyone. Find and employer who has a job and willing to sponsor you a H1B. The employer will have to file a new petition (I-129) when the CAP remains open (Unless you already have an approved H1B petition in which you haven't used all 6 years). When that gets approved, you can start working for the employer as of the H1B effective date.
