Hi Guys

I am in H1B visa and going to marry soon. I wanted to know if my wife can work in US or not in dependent visa? What should be her visa status to work here legally?

She cannot work if she enters U.S in H4 (dependent) visa. In order for her to work, she will have to find an employer who can sponsor her H1B. The employer will have to file the COS from H4 to H1B and that should get approved for her to work. Alternatively, if she is already working in her home country and if her company can sponsor her a L1B visa (if she qualifies), then she can enter in L1B and start working. There is no other alternative until you both get your EAD through the GC process or the GC itself.
