General question on H1 B visa class

Hi Friends,

I have one basic question. I have finished my Master's in December 2008 and I got my H1-B visa approved on October, 2009 for 1 year. Later I applied for extension in 2010 and got approved till September, 2012, recently I have changed my employer and now I have H1-B visa valid till June, 2013.

I have to get my Visa stamped for the first time. Does my situation come as renewals for same visa class as my H1-B got extended on 3 instances or does my situation fall under the category of "change of status" from F1 visa to H1 Visa ?

What got extended is your petition and not your visa. Petition and visa are two different things. Visa is the one that you get stamped in your passport by going through a visa interview at a U.S Consulate. So answer NO.
