Recived Blue Form,but i am on H4

Hii..

3 days back i had my H1 Interview.I am a new applicant and i am holding a valid H4 visa
At mumbai consulate i received 221 g blue form,asking me to submit more documents along with passport.
But since i have a valid H4 visa,can i take back the Passport when i have to travel back to US?

You can request you passport back anytime. However, there are chances that your H4 might get cancelled when you submit your passport for H1B. In such case, you will need to apply for H4 again.

Also, if you return with H4 Visa you cannot work until your status changes to H1.
