H1b visa

My H1b visa stamp is valid till May 5 2012 and I 797 till August 2012 .
Just wanted to know If I could go on some vacation and return to US by May 1 . Would there be any problems at POE ?

No issues. You can re-enter as long as the petition and visa remains valid.
