DS-160 - Home Address

So the situation is:
I am on H1 visa in US and need to goto India for H1 Visa Stamping. Since my apartment lease expired last month so i decided to stay for a couple of months with a family friend and will take a new lease after coming back to US.
And the question is:
Since i am not the part of the lease agreement that my friend has, what address should i fill in the DS-160 form?

For an Indian national living in US but getting the visa in India, is an Indian home address the norm??

All that they are asking for is an address where they can contact you when required. It can either be your U.S address or Indian home address. When you are outside U.S applying for a visa, unless the visa is approved, you cannot go back to your address in U.S. So it is better to give the Indian address.
