221g problem

Hi all ,
I applied recently for H1B but my case has been kept pending under section 221g & I have been told to wait for 4 to 6 weeks before the consulate gets back to me .
could anyone teel me is this wait period reallt 4 to 6 weeks or more than this as I have to join work on the 1st of july.

see generally 221(g) is mentioned when there is more requirement of evidence or documents. but when they asked you to wait for 3/4 weeks it means they are in process and you will have to wait. generally if they ask you to reapply u will have to . but if they have asked you to wait you will have to wait for thier answer.talk to your employer about your situation and keep updating him to avoid further problem. good luck
