No, my OPT runs out in Aug and my laywer told me if I do get my H1 which will start Oct 1st then I cant work for those 6/7 weeks. He said I dont have to go home but can't work, there may be ways round it, and depending on how flexible your emploer is you could get him to stop you pay for that time period, still go to work and then your employer could give you that money back as a year end bonus. Other than that you cant work...sorry
