I-94 Issue

Dear All

Actually By mistakely I did not give my I-94 to Air india staff and travelled back to India and also my Visa is over , So currently i will not go back.

So as per USCIS record , still my name show that i m in USA as did not return I-94.

Please help me out this and guide.

There is no need to panic.The cbp website states the following.

"If you departed by a commercial air or sea carrier (airlines or cruise ships), your departure from the U.S. can be independently verified, and it is not necessary to take any further action, although holding on to your outbound (from the U.S.) boarding pass - if you still have it - can help facilitate your reentry next time you come back to the United States."

It is your responsibility to make sure that your exit record is properly registered and your I-94 gets closed correctly. If the I-94 remains open and that I-94 passes its expiry date, it will show as if you have overstayed since the I-94 that you will receive when you return back will have completely a new number. So follow the link in my previous reply to return that I-94 back to CBP to have a proper exit entry.
