H1 B visa status

Hi,

I had an appointment at Chennai Consulate on 12/12/2011. After an Hour long Interview the Officer returned all my Documents along with my Passport and said that they would contact me in few days.None of my documents including passport is with the VFS.Can someone help in letting me know what status the application is in and going forward what should be my next step?

The status of your application is pending admin processing. You will hear back from the consulate after the admin processing is complete. There is nothing much you could do. Contact VFS helpdesk and see if they can give you a tracking number to track your case status online.
