  • H1 Stamping -- canda or mexico

    Hi,

I came to US on F1. Got my H1 approved for 1 year which will expire in sept'11. Want to get stamping in canda or mexico. Is one better than another? Can i travel back home immediately after stamping or wait for sometime before i travel back.

    thanks in advance for suggestions.

Consulates in Mexico do not accept change of status cases.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

I was told that i could always go to mexico for change of status. I have seen few forums where they have mentioned they have done that. pls check again?

You have already changed status. Consulates in Mexico require that your previous Visa must be issued in your home country. You don't have any previous Visa since your previous Visa was F1.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Like mentioned, you are not eligible to go to Mexico for stamping. Canada is an option.
