what happens if after accepting a job offer I do not join the company

Hi all,
Request you all to share your opinions, thoughts and experiences.

I am currently on H!B with company A. I got an offer from company B in California that I accepted and my H1 transfer is underway. However, I now have a change of mind. I want to stick to company A.

Will that put me into any legal trouble?
Is it okay to tell company B that I will not be joining them?

Please answer at the earliest.
