F1 to H1B Stamping in Ottawa Canada

HI Folks

Can you let me know if the F1 to H1 Stamping are going on in Ottawa Canada...

My Situation:

Came to US in 2006 on F1
H1B Approved in 2010 Oct
EVC model

Planning to go for stamping in Ottawa Canada in Jan 2012
Got Canada Visiting Visa Multiple entry


1. Are the F1 to H1 stamping still going on in Canada
2. My current client is not the same with which I applied for H1B...
So Should I apply for H1B ammendment...
My employer says it takes months for this ..so he is asking to go with out any ammendments.
