221G pink slip on 12 th Dec 2012 , new delhi embassy
Hi All,
I am in same boat as you are in.. I appeared for interview on 12 th Dec. Got Pink slip asking for docs. I sent the docs on same day via email [email protected]. I havent heard anything from embassy yet. CEAC site says "under admin processing", the case is not getting updated .. the last update is 12th dec ( which was my interview date)..
It is already 28 days.I am worried now. Do I need to send the docs in any other way or sending to the email ID is fine( I got an automated reply stating my docs are received)
I passed the 3-4 weeks timelimit as stated by lady at counter 30 in new delhi embassy.
Any body have any suggestion for me..or waiting for VISA from 12th dec onwards or earlier.
Thanks
Amit

"Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days."
Does anyone else o the forum see the same message? I am assuming the above message will change when the status changes. After going through the info on "http://newdelhi.usembassy.gov" I was hoping for one of the following status - Pending Process, Contact Embassy, Send PPT and Processed.
My guess is that the quote above means "pending process". Please let me know if I am interpreting this incorrectly

Got the stamp after 221g
First of all I wangt to applogize to the forum members that I did not came back after I got my visa.
I appeared for H1b visa stamp (I was in US already on H1b and travelled to India to renew my h1b visa stamp ) in New Delhi on 16th July and was handed 221g with a pink slip. After that I kept on waiting for three months and one day noticed that on website for status check has changed due to new process and passport tracking website also got changed. This was in first week of Oct 2012 , I had a tough time in finding my status biut was hopefull as it was saying passport has been delivered.
I went to Nehru Place and with some hiccups (they had difficulty in tracing my passport took 20 min) I got my passport stamp with new visa. I noticed something this time that my Visa has "Security clearance recieved" and so was on my previous visa. It means whenver I will apply for visa stamp for USA they are going to put me through same ordeal of 221g.
Learned some more things the process in there terms is called SOA (Security Option Advisory) which is issued by Visa Officer. The request goes to state department. There are different type of SOA cases , Donkey, condor , mentis etc. One thing to keep in mind is that after 90days the company or your attorney can check with state department on the status.
One last thing is to stay positive and I know its very tough and no one excepts yourself realize what you are going through. I offer my best wishes and a Happy new Year to all of you. I pray to God that those who are waiting they get there visa soon.

My Interview was really short (name of company, number of employees, etc) and was told that my application would need admin processing ( I do work form a firm that does a lot of R&D)
I am full time employee in startup
I cannot even track my status online on the embassy website as I get a message that says.. application number invalid...
This was for my h1b renewal. ( i had come home for a 2 week long break) .
I was told 4-6 weeks and now I am into m 6th week with no info on where my application might be ( its becoming difficult explaining to my boss as to when I might be back )
This forum has a lot of good info so am hoping to hear from those who are stuck in the same boat as me
I am in same boat but just another fresh case. Came with 2 weeks leave and now is uncertain about what to do ..I plan to work remotely as my boss is aware of my situation. I am nervous like all of us who are waiting but I am +ve of the outcome as this is my third time when issued 221g.
Back in my mind I knew that they might give me 221g this time as well but still could not plan for longer stay in India

Hi

Can you just go back and submit it to the OFC? I am especially concerned since the embassy website keeps saying "invalid case number", so I have no way of knowing when the embassy is ready to issue me a visa.
Try checking your case status here.

Re-submitting passport after withdrawal
Originally posted by lddgnz View PostHi dala,
The case status on website can stay broken for many days, my case has been in admin processing since Sep and it has shown "invalid case number" to me on some occasions but fixes by itself in few days. You can send an email to embassy support address incase you are concerned and they will send reply saying it's under admin processing and the case number update on website for online status check may take upto 60 days.
I also recently withdrew my passport from New Delhi embassy as I have a business trip coming up. I wrote an email to support address again and they replied that in order to withdraw passport, I need to go to nearest OFC and submit a written request. I did that and picked up my passport within 2 days from the same OFC again. The administrative processing will continue meanwhile in background and I will have to resubmit passport for visa stamping once it's done.
Hope this helps.

Also, does anyone know the procedure for temporarily withdrawing passport from the New Delhi embassy? How much time does it take to get the passport back? I need to travel outside the country for a few days.
Thanks!
