I have been a regular visitor of this forum . My brother have gone to New Delhi consulate for H1B stamping and got a pink slip for admin processing . Got it resolved within 2 weeks and got the stamped passport . Hope you all get visa stamped at earliest .

wow! thats really quick - was he a technology mantis check ? i think mine is the same case because i have a phd and i have to send resume/itinerary/travel in past 10 years etc...my question is do you get an auto reply once you send the documents..how do you know if they have been accepted? also are the majority resolved in 4 weeks or have there been cases of mantis checks taking more than 8 weeks?

I also attended my intw on 17th July,2012 9:15 AM slot and was handed over the pink 221g with no documents asked, i was already in US for last 4 years and had to visit India for some urgent matter and when i went for stamping got this issue. Just wondering why they didnt ask for any documents as i was carrying almost everyhting with me what they could have asked for. I noticed someone mentioned in one of the post that if they dont ask for any documents then it could be some name related issue on passport. But VO never mentioned that visa has been approved and it just needs admin processing, they just told me to go to counter 30 for additional questions where i got 221g. But they've kept my PPT, application form and I-797 approval notice. God knows what is going on and how much time it will take to process. Even the case status is also not available on consulate website , for first two days it shows case under processing and now it says case number not found. My family attended the intw last month in Mumbai consulate and got their visa approved and stamped for H4 but for me i got 221g..lets see what happens , will keep posted the updates......

I attanded my interview also on July-16 in the 9:15AM slot and was handed over 221-g. My passport alongwith old passport is with consulate.

I appered on window no 13 , and before moving futher itself I had the thought of God unlucky number 13 :-)
VO asked me few questions about my past visits and company name/job type etc and then started looking at the screen with a pause. He says your visa is approved but required administrative processing and asked me to go to window no. 30.

As stated in post by shervin143: If the job is genuine and if the documents are good, you will get the visa stamped. It just might take some time to get the admin process completed. Waiting patiently is the only option.

Learning from this forum : It can take 2 weeks to 8weeks for getting security clearance but most of the members averaging it to 2 weeks to 4 weeks. Again from other threads/posts if its pink 221g with no documents asked , it can be because of name. I think the same applies in my case.

Keeping my fingers crossed and wishing luck to all of us who are still waiting.

For me its 3 months completed....attended interview in 1st week of april ...221g green slip issued...submitted documents at the counter the same time...from then waiting to hear something from the consulate....

221g B1 Visa 7 weeks no reply

Hi,

I found this thread very informative and persuasive to all facing the curse of 221g. Just to add my bit, I am waiting for 221g clearance(pink slip with no documents asked) on B1 Visa application for last 7 weeks without any progressive reply from VFS or US consulate. Lets hope that our wait end soon. Never expected this from US DOS. Seems like its jungle out there,everywhere.

completed 11 weeks...in 12th week...not sure how long we need to wait.....
just wait and watch game...not sure when the game will come to an end..

I appeared for my interview May 17 and was given a pink 221g ( no documents to submit). My Interview was really short (name of company, number of employees,etc) and was told that my application would need admin processing ( I do work form a firm that does a lot of R&D)

I am full time employee in startup

I cannot even track my status online on the embassy website as I get a message that says.. application number invalid...

This was for my h1b renewal. ( i had come home for a 2 week long break) .
I was told 4-6 weeks and now I am into m 6th week with no info on where my application might be ( its becoming difficult explaining to my boss as to when I might be back )

This forum has a lot of good info so am hoping to hear from those who are stuck in the same boat as me

The vfs passport site always says "Your Passport is under process at U.S Embassy/Consulate."...
No change seen in last 10 weeks ..10 weeks back I appeared for the interview at the new delhi counslate....still waiting.....

I got my 1st 221g pink slip in 2008 and was cleared in 6 months. I got it again 2012 now.... lets see how much time it takes now

Hello guys,

am new to this forum. I came to india in Jan and got a 221g at the mumbai consulate. Its almost been 5 months and still waiting. Anyone got visa after 5 months? I already had an RFE on this visa before it was approved. I have been checking the USCIS website regularly and so i know case hads not been sent back to USCIS.

What is everyone upto in india waiting since so many months? my client does not allow work from home.
