  • H1B stamping issue

    Hi,

I have a unusual issue with my stamping.

    I was with a company (company A ) for 9 months.
The visa petition (I-797) for company A was valid from april 2011 to march 2014

Then I switched jobs in december 2011 and now I am with company B.
The visa petition (I-797) for company B is valid from Nov 2011 to Oct 2014.

But apparently, company A has not informed USCIS about me changing job. So when I went for visa stamping today the visa officer asked me if I am with company A or with company B. I explained to him that I am with company B and got the visa approved.

But when I received my passport the visa stamp has I-797 number of company A. Its a valid H1B visa otherwise apart from the I-797 number being from company A.

Can I enter USA again with this visa and I-797 from company B ?

What should be done in this case?

No issues. You can use the existing valid H1B visa with the latest approval notice from Company B to re-enter U.S.
Did you give the VO both Company A and Company B's approval notices when you attend the visa interview? That could have caused all the confusions.
