  • vacation on H1B

    Hello
My wife is working on H1B (approved 1797A received) but visa stamping is not done. we live in detrioit and are planning for vacation to Alaska on a cruise ship enroute Canada.

Since my wife's H1B is not yet stamped - Is it okay to travel by cruise? - Is H1B stamping mandatory for her in this whole process

On the other hand, is it okay to travel on cruise without touching shores in Canada.

Kindly clarify. Thanks for your help.

Yes, Canada is okay. She can travel to Canada or Mexico for less than 30 days and return without a Visa. She needs to hold onto her I-94. (one in passport and one on her approval notice).
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Canada is just an enroute to Alaska via cruise. Is that a problem to travel on H1B without stamping

        No problem at all.
This is my opinion and not legal advice.

Please share the experience. Did you make your vacation plan and were there any POE questions on visa stamp not present in passport?

          Thanks in advance!
