appearing for H4 if I already have I20

hi,

I am planning to appear for H4 visa (will get married soon) and have already applied for U.S. school and might get I20 from couple schools. Do you think my H4 visa will get rejected or I would be questioned why I chose H4 over F1 visa?

No issues. There will be no such questions. If asked you can explain that you want to accompany your spouse as a dependent.

It is better to apply for F1 Visa before H4 if you plan to study anyway. Post more details.

i had apply to U.S school for 2012 spring but due to lack of documents i didn't get I20 as my applications were incomplete. now i am continuing those application for fall and before august, i'll get married. so we decided to opt for H4 since it might be easier than F1. my spouse is in U.S. over 7-8 years now and currently H1b visa holder. my spouse dont need H1b stamp and the GC (I140) is currently in process.

You can apply for H4 Visa without any problem. Just having an I-20 does not mean anything.

i m on H4 and studying in dental school... i donot want to convertmy visa staus to F1 but had a question if i can get I-20 from college... I20 i need to show in banks in india for reduced transaction fee...as my parents are going to transfer my college fees. so wanted to know if i can get I20 on h4 visa
