  • H1 B appointment -Should I select Indian citizen resident in US

    Hello,

I am booking appointment for my H1B visa stamping this April. While doing so, I am asked the question whether,

    "Are you resident of India/Bhutan"

    Or

    "Indian citizen resident in US"?

I came to US on F1 visa in Dec 2010 and my H1 was approved from Oct 2011. Now, I would be going for my stamping, I wasn't sure which one to choose.

There are lots of threads that answer this, but my question was since I have not completed 183 days during this calendar year in US, I wasn't sure if I could select the 2nd option.

    Please advise.

You can select "Resident of India/Bhutan".

      H1 visa fee receipt question

      Thanks Shervin.

      Just curious to know.

      I have stayed in US,
      2010 - 345 days
      2011 - 360 days
      2012 - Presently in US.

So, should we have completed total number of days in US for choosing 2nd option ?

Either option will do in your case. Resident of India/Bhutan" is the safest bet. Check with VFS helpdesk to be more certain.
