H1B extension

Hi ,

I work for an huge IT employer . My employer is about to file my H1B extension .
Earlier my company filed H1B petition for 3 years ,but I just got approval for one year .They had client letter and even mentioned that my project would be there long term and job will continue for more than 3 years ,but still got approval for 1 year instead for 3 years .

I just wanted to know whether there is a way to get the extension for 3 years .Any suggestions will be helpful

There is no fool proof way to get a 3 year extension. It depends on the officer who handles your case. People who work full time for a company on their own projects (without a client in place), gets straight 3 years. Nowadays. in most cases USCIS is approving the H1B extension only for shorter duration when multiple layers are involved.
