H1B Petition Approval

I have received a mail from my company that USCIS has approved my H1 Visa Petition and the approval validity date is 06/01/2012 to 06/30/2013. I want to know if I am eligible to go for the stamping right now or if there is start date for the H1B 2013 cap? I am aware that I can not fly before 1st Oct 2012.

Secondly, any idea what is this Approval validity date? Does it suggest that I can not stay beyond 30th June 2013 in US? Please advice.

>>> If the H1B effective date is 6/1/2012, then it was not filed under the 2013 CAP. Did you ever had an H1B approval in the past and did you give your employer a copy of that H1B approval. If yes, then the employer would have filed your H1B under that CAP. If not, then I don't believe your H1B is effective from June 1st. When you file a H1B under a new CAP, the effective date will be on or after Oct 1st. Get a copy of your H1B approval from the employer and check the effective date. You can attend the visa interview 90 days prior to the H1B effective date.

Secondly, any idea what is this Approval validity date? Does it suggest that I can not stay beyond 30th June 2013 in US?

Thanks all for your support! My record was mistakenly updated by my company because of some confusion regarding names, ideally they should have used the Emp. No to update records. I checked my status on the USCIS website, it is still in the Initial Review phase.

Let us know if someone has already received petition approval.

Is it ok/allowed to choose different consulate for visa interview that what is filled in petition ?

My petition got approved on 5th Sep 2012, my application submitted on 19th April and have received the receipt no. on 23rd April 2012.

It took 125 days to get the decision, Hope who are waiting for their decision will get the good news soon, Best of luck..

We submitted our application on 9 June and got a receipt no. on 11 June. We are still waiting for a decision, hope it comes soon!

If this was a cap subject case, it should have an approval from October 2012 - When did you apply?

H1B Visa Delayed Release

Hi everyone,

I receive my receipt last May 29, 2012 for H1B -129, but until now I haven't heard anything from them. My lawyer told me that there was a delay on the part of the USCIS of process of the papers.

1. Do you have any idea when will the visa get approved?

2. Does it take long until October 1, 2012?

I'm just worried but still optimistic on the other hand.

I recieved approval on Sept 24 on H1b filed under h1b premium and cos.

H1B approval recieved for Yr 2013 under premium . waiting for the email notice from my employer. Just got approved on Sept 24. Since its in Change of Status i m really curious ...

If the uscis website says approval notice was sent on Sept 24 , When can i expect the cos effective date any idea.

Visa Approved, next plan of action

Hi all,
First of all sorry if my question seems trivial, I am completely new to the US visa process.
My employer had filed my application in the month of April and I am informed that my Visa has been approved.
I need to know what will be next plan of action.
Also because still the place my visit and client names have not been finalized, I will get these details in next 2-3 weeks. Just wanted to understand if my interview is scheduled after 3-4 weeks will still there be chance of H1B approval ( Stamping) or it will be too late considering there is a cap on H1B number.
