H4 to H1 Conversion

MY husband got H4 Visa. He is planning to search for the job in US . If he get the job in September or October, will it be possible to convert from H4 to H1. This is first time H1b for him.

the H1 Cap for this year is over. The earliest a new H1 can be filed would be in April 2013 and then the earliest your spouse can work would be from Oct 2013. If your spouse can find a non profit organization to sponsor his H1 then he might be able to work much earlier. This is my opinion do seek expert help too.
