  • H1 B application filled with CIS...what does it mean?

    Hi All,

I'm new to this Forum...I have a small query here.
My Company has started processing my H1B application in the month of April,2012. Today I got an update saying that my application is filled with CIS. I dont understand what does it mean. Can anybody tell me what it means?

Also, I would like to know the H1B process steps...please help me.

    Thanks,
    Raj

From where did you get the update? Did you check you case online? Or you just heard from your employer/lawyer. Or is it just that you received the receipt notice?

      Thanks for your reply.

I got this update from my manager and he also doesn't know much about the process.

Well, it just means that the company has filed the petition with USCIS. You will have to wait for the actual receipt notice from USCIS.
